Director of Merchandising

Job description / Role

Quest Search and Selection is working with leading fashion and lifestyle brand in the Middle East looking for a Director of Merchandising to join their team in Kuwait. We are ideally looking for someone with extensive merchandising experience for a private label or retail brand.

As the Director of Merchandising, you will:

- Lead the merchandising team in all Planning, Buying, Allocation, and Production activities
- Gather key insights from category, market data, and past sales performance to guide strategic initiatives, gain competitive advantage, and suggest process enhancements.
- Ensure achievement of budget, stocks and sales KPIs to maintain company profitability.
- Lead review sessions to ensure critical issues are addressed and overall business objectives are met
- Keep abreast with industry trends and best practices
- Lead, monitor, coach, and manage merchandising team

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree, with at least 5 years’ experience in similar role
- Experience as a Chief Merchandising Officer, Merchandising Head or equivalent within the fashion / lifestyle / private label sector
- Highly analytical, with strong decision-making and strategic thinking skills, excellent judgement, communication, and confidence
- Experience and ability to drive merchandising plans into profitable results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Languages: English, Arabic (advantage)
