Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Under direct supervision, compiles requests for materials, prepares purchase orders using defined buying channels, tracks purchases/supplies, and handles inquiries about orders by utilizing established sources either through category management or locally defined suppliers.

- May use other defined buying channels to procure items.
- Works with material coordinators/warehousemen to eliminate material constraints.
- Resolves goods and invoice receipts issues, enlisting supervisor’s or procurement specialist’s help when needed.
- Performs all duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- May perform RFQ’s up to their procurement authority and assist in other areas as directed by Supervisor.
- Assists in selecting and qualifying suppliers as well as negotiating with approved suppliers for goods and services not covered under Category Management.
- Job tasks impact costs containment, efficiency, profitability, or operations.

Job Roles:

- Complies with and executes Category Management strategy in accordance with policies and procedures

- Resolves goods and invoice receipts issues, enlisting supervisor or procurement specialist help when needed

Requirements

Skills are typically acquired through at least 1 year of related experience. Undergraduate degree in applicable discipline preferred.
