The Role:

Alshaya's corporate communications team is expanding to reflect the company's dynamic growth. With opportunities for communicators at senior, manager and executive level, we are looking for talented individuals who want to play a role in shaping and building the reputation of one of the world's leading retail franchise operators. Internal and external communications roles are both on the agenda, and successful candidates will be part of a strategic team that understands what content and channels will build stakeholder and customer awareness, both about Alshaya and our brands.

The External Communications Executive will be part of the expanding Corporate Communications team at Alshaya. You will be accountable for the development and delivery of media and public relations activities targeting key stakeholders locally in Kuwait, and more widely across Alshaya's operating markets.

Key responsibilities will include:
* Providing media relations support to the business (press releases, blogger, events etc.)
* Supporting the Corporate Communications Manager (news planning, project and event support etc.)
* Developing and maintaining core functional processes (media contacts, etc)
* Supporting the development of best practice, policies and effective evaluation of all external communications activity
* Creating and sustaining internal and external relationships.

Requirements

* A Bachelor's degree, ideally in communications or a related field
* 5+ years' communications experience (international experience an advantage)
* Experience of implementing PR campaigns - preferably within a retail or FMCG environment
* Excellent factual and creative writing and editing skills in English (Arabic skills are an advantage)
* Strong organisational, planning and project management skills.
