Employment: Full Time

Major F&B retail business is expanding its buying team and requires excellent category buyer to oversee several food retail brands buying strategies.

We have worked with this client for the last ten years and have seen the business evolve into the dominant food and beverage retail operator across the MENA region that it is today. During this time period our client has grown from 10,000 employees to over 45,000. It now works with some of the globes most instantly recognisable, market-leading and award receiving brands.

Our client's pedigree within the local marketplace sees this business as a leader within its industry and an employer of choice for the majority of international talent.

Based in Kuwait you will be working within a culture that encourages autonomy and personal decision-making, as well as being part of a family style atmosphere with high calibre colleagues.

As Category Manager or Food Buyer you will be responsible for:
- Designing and deploying the financial operating category plan for several brands
- Shaping the positioning strategy for the category/ brands based marketplace strategic analysis
- Understanding the competitive marketplace to see potential threats and weaknesses of category
- Sculpting the positioning strategy for several product categories
- Managing the life-cycle of the product lines
- Driving the development of NPD from concept through to launch
- Working in partnership with the Supply Chain team to ensure thorough integration of forecasting, planning, inventory management of product lines and forward buying

Requirements

You will be someone who has a genuine interest in the food industry and you will hold a real passion for your role within the industry. As a potential candidate you will demonstrate a strong understanding of the food industry and hold excellent experience within food buying, either from the manufacturing, foodservice or retail side of the industry.

As this role will cover several international brands you will be expected to travel across the MENA region and at times, potentially, to the host brands headquarters.
