Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Head of the Division - Used Cars

Responsible for overall profitable growth of the Used Cars department and high levels of customer satisfaction by directing, guiding and motivating all personnel in the department.

Strategic
• Develop annual business plans for all Used Cars department to support the overall business strategy of
the Commercial Division
• Propose pricing strategy and margins on various models and their variants for domestic and export sales based on
discussions with CD
• Prepare annual budgets for Used Cars department, monitor actual department performance against
budgeted figures and take suitable corrective action to meet overall department goals

Operational
• Assign performance targets based on sales revenue, Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and other measures to reporting
managers after discussing historical trends, projections and benchmark data
• Monitor market trends, potential as well as competitor activities and inform senior management
• Monitor performance of by working closely with Showroom Manager and ensure excellence in retail
operations in aspects related to achieving performance goals and customer satisfaction
• Plan marketing activities in coordination with the Marketing
department and ensure successful implementation of the same
• Recommend new showroom requirements on parameters such location, layout etc to CD

People Management
• Lead, motivate and support sales employees to deliver business efficiently
• Take hiring decisions for all personnel related to the Used Cars Department
• Provide Sales personnel with necessary information regarding finalized annual budgets, incentive plans and performance
parameters/measures on which their performance shall be appraised and evaluate them on the same
• Identify individual training needs; provide development inputs on the basis of performance reviews for direct reports and
approve staff training needs for rest of sales personnel ensuring that the sales personnel are suitably trained on the
same in coordination with the Manager - Training & Development
• Recommend salary increases and promotions for positions in Used Cars Department in accordance with defined
career paths and salary grades
• Agree on clear performance objectives and regularly review performance for all direct reports
• Maintain and promote staff motivation
• Carry out performance appraisals as per company policies and procedures
• Make requisite attempts to handle all grievances raised by subordinates in a prompt and effective manner and escalate
such matters to own superior if required.

Requirements

Minimum experience of 10 years in retail sales that includes leading a professional sales team and handling independent P&L responsibilities
