What you'll be doing

As a Managing Director you will be responsible for managing / coordinating all operations within Kuwait. Looking after the interests of the Group, our partners and stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Building and maintaining long lasting relationships with key local stakeholders and leading negotiations as required to deliver the agreed upon growth objectives (i.e. Shareholders, Partners, Governmental entities, Banks, Real estate companies, customers, suppliers and service providers, etc.)
- Representing the company where required before local authorities, trade associations, employee organizations, etc.
- Acting as a company Ambassador and local sponsor for all group initiatives, policies and procedures to ensure they are effectively communicated and adhered to.
- Adopting an enterprise wide mindset and maintaining the Group's best interests when advising on IRR, stores closings, write-off-cases, cash, structure evolution and any other business relevant decisions.
- Coordinating with verticalized functions on country-specific regulations, cash flow when it comes to importing goods, stock and equipment to avoid legal complications.
- Consulting at country level regarding profit, revenue, budgets and quality targets driven by the group's vertical leadership team.
- Flagging risk and proposing solutions whilst being the Group's local representative in case of crisis communication
- Monitoring business performance and presenting monthly reports highlighting country sales, investment opportunities, profitability, cash generation, local economic situation and competitors update
- Acting as custodian and role model for the Group values and being an inclusive servant leader by actioning the local plans to attract, develop and retain employees

Requirements

What you'll need to succeed

- You would be a Kuwaiti National with previous experience at country management level leading a similar role
- You would possess a relevant educational background. A Masters degree from a reputable business school would be a great plus
- Previous experience in the Retail industry would be considered a great plus but not a must
- You would be an effective communicator in both Arabic and English
- You would be dynamic, possessing a servant leader's attitude, a strong mediator and negotiator.
- Well versed with the local laws.
- Results oriented and strong in data analysis and reporting
- Strategic and innovative whilst still being operational.
