Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Work in Kuwait is contingent upon the applicant's ability to obtain a work permit from the State of Kuwait, which is requested on the applicant's behalf by their employer. Effective January 1, 2021, the Kuwait Public Authority of Manpower issued new work permit regulations, informing contractors that it will not issue a work permit to any individual who is fifty-nine (59) years or older and holds a high school grade certificate or less. A two-year college degree or higher is required for all candidates fifty-nine (59) years or older. See Administrative Decision No. (520) of 2020 AD - Amendment to the Administrative Decision No. (552) of 2018 on Issuing the Work Permit Regulations.

Purpose:

To provide comprehensive interaction and liaison, with the Government of Kuwait, on behalf of Amentum.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Cultivates professional relationship with host country officials at the national and regional level and maintains consistent communication with them during the contract.
- Provide advice on local customs and protocol.
- Assist in investigating violations of host country laws:
- Act as liaison between company, local sponsor and local law enforcement, courts, prisons and medical facilities.
- Ministry Interfaces:
- Immigration (Visit visa/ temporary residencies/permanent residencies).
- Civil ID (first time issuances, renewals including but not limited to re-issuance of lost civil IDs).
- Driver's Licenses.
- Assist in scheduling Health/Medical Screening Requirements for Residency.
- Clearance/shipment of Human Remains of deceased employees.
- Monitor and assist in processing entry / renewal of visas and driver's license.
- Assist with Customs Clearance of imports and exports as needed.
- Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a graduate bachelor's degree in business administration or management preferred.

Experience:
- Requires three (3) years or more of related experience gained through general management, government relations, or a combination of both.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Moderate knowledge of Arabic language to include general speaking and writing of the language.
- Sound knowledge of Government / Ministries procedures and regulations.
- Familiarity with International Labor Laws pertaining to US and Kuwait.
- Understanding of the requirements of the mix of local nationals and foreign nationals in the execution of limited projects and long-term office.
- Detailed knowledge of political, commercial and local customs aspects of sponsorship programs is a basis for prevention of conflicts by the general contractor.
- Must have demonstrated leadership and management skills, including a professional demeanor.
- Must be able to work effectively with all levels of employees, including top, middle and supervisory levels of management.
- Requires strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.
- Must be able to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.
- Must be able to prioritize responsibilities in order to handle a demanding workload.
- Must have strong analytical skills, including the ability to extract, compile and analyze data.
- Requires proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and related applications.
- Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.

Certification, License & Clearance:
- Valid Host Country Light vehicle license.
- Tier 1 NACI required for all U.S. Citizens.

Work Environment, Physical Demands & Mental Demands:
- Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.
- Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
- Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
