Quantity Surveyor - Kuwait

The company is the Developer and Main Contractor of a prestigious waterside city in Kuwait which is being rolled out on an unprecedented scale with very short timeframes. This iconic project has a strong western centric management team and systems, has a track record of successfully delivering projects and has been strategically growing and expanding its capabilities. There is a full and stable list of work orders looking into the future and therefore the prospect for long and stable employment.

The role of the Quantity Surveyor combines the principal characteristics of both the contractors and consultants quantity surveyor. The primary objective of the Quantity Surveyor is the successful cost management of multiple projects from the inception stage to final completion. This role will involve working closely with the designers and project managers on a variety of construction works.

The Quantity Surveyor will report to the Project Cost Manager.

Responsibilities
- The preparation of Tender Documents, including Bills of Quantities for Main Contract and Subcontractor packages
- The preparation and analysing costings relating to tenders
- Allocation of work for subcontractors
- The procurement of major materials
- Undertaking value management and engineering assessments
- Administration of financial and contractual matters relating to contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, including payments, valuation of variations and final accounts
- Cost expenditure and cost reconciliation reports

Requirements

- Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management Degree
- Min. 3 years experience with a Contractor within the civil infrastructure and/or building works sector
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Excellent IT skills
