Job description / Role
Project Overview: Expansion of Waste Water Treatment Facilities at the Sulaibiya WWTRP site, Kuwait.
Resident Engineer (RE) for the expansion of waste water treatment facilities at the Sulaibiya WWTRP site, Kuwait. The project involves the construction and commissioning of major civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation works by the EPC contractor Kharafi National. Parsons are undertaking the full process design and detailed design works for civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation works.
The RE will represent Parsons on site at Sulaibiya to ensure that the designs prepared by Parsons are fully implemented to the required quality construction standards.
The RE will prepare weekly reports and provide weekly updates to the Project Manager. In addition, the RE will act as a communications link between Kharafi Nationals’s construction manager and Parsons to assist in the objective that the correct design documentation is implemented. All design transmittals are formally issued to Kharafi National under QA procedures, and the RE will be copied in on such transmittals.
Construction and commissioning of the works is due to be completed by 31st July 2016. Civils construction is currently ongoing, and it is likely that further (MEICA) resources are deployed form Parsons during MEICA installation and commissioning. The RE will be required to coordinate such resources with the Contractor’s construction manager to provide effective inspection and quality management of the works.
Kuwait site working hours are from 7AM to 4.30PM with 30 minutes lunchbreak,6 days per week.
Requirements
Ideal candidate should hold Engineering degree with significant construction supervision experience (15+ years) on such a major waste water treatment plant and who is familiar with the technologies and construction requirements of such a plant. The individual will need to be confident, self-motivated and be able to act in a professional and competent manner with minimal overview management.
