Senior Electrical Engineer - Kuwait

We currently have a requirement for the position of Senior Electrical Engineer in Kuwait on our National Bank of Kuwait Project.

The correct individual must be able to demonstrate a strong consultancy background in Electrical Engineering and must have achieved Chartered status.

Job Purpose:
- Site based Senior Electrical Engineer on a large Kuwait construction project focussing on ensuring that the interpretation of the electrical engineering design information is in accordance with both the contract and the design intent.
- Part of team responsible for acting as Guardian of the Design Intent on a project designed by Buro Happold engineers in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all day to day electrical engineering aspects of the project.
- Responsible for the electrical engineering resourcing and day to day task allocation for the structural engineers and inspectors working on the project.
- Manage the workload of electrical engineers and inspectors (including verification of quality) Responsible for reporting of progress to Project Director, to include the any escalations and key engineering issues.
- Communicate directly with the NBK Client as required
- Set up and manage electrical engineering project administrative systems – submittals and RFI listings - including planning and monitoring job resourcing/expenditure (adjusting these as necessary).
- oLiaise and coordinate with the other engineering teams on site – Structural, electrical etc
- Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service and site decisions and the objectives of the client are achieved.
- Ensuring all relevant BH staff are informed of site and client matters.
- Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client’s best interests and that BH policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice etc.
- Respond to Requests for Information raised by the contractor in relation to the information issued for construction and ensure that information from the design engineers is incorporated.
- Review Contractor’s Electrical shop drawings, method statements and material submittals against the contract drawings for compliance where issues associated with the design intent are being questioned.
- Undertake general project site observation / inspection of the Electrical works for Contractor’s adherence to the design intent in drawings and specification, good working practices, the construction schedule and health & safety.

Requirements

- Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer.
- Minimum requirement of degree level education.
- Minimum of 10 years experience
- Ideally Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng) or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering (MEng).
- Significant relevant experience on site ideally in the Middle East and on high rise buildings projects Commercial experience is desirable.
