Senior Metadata Analyst

Job description / Role

Our esteemed Client considered the pioneer in the banking phenomenon known as Islamic Finance or Shari’a Compliant Banking has instructed us to recruit a Senior Metadata Analyst.

- Responsible for assuring the correct population of the metadata repository in the context of the Enterprise Data Warehouse technology ecosystem and its source systems. This includes content activities such as connecting metadata from ETL and web service jobs, entering or populating the metadata repository to meet business requirements for metadata.
- Maintain a high-level of knowledge and expertise related to metadata and will have responsibilities associated with the deployment of related schema.
- Maintains specifications of multiple databases, tables and fields to be kept current in a single reference interface.
- Load models, database objects, and PowerCenter workflows into metadata tool.
- Provides technical support to the data governance team to create and maintain business glossaries.
- Prepares import of catalog definitions from modeling tool exports to load into database objects.
- Maintains models and upstream information in Metadata tool for database changes (including Facets refreshes).
- Develops, maintains and troubleshoots ERwin (or similar tool) macros or similar modeling tool.
- Enforcing Metadata standards and policies
- Reverses engineer databases into ERwin (or similar tool).

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
- At least 5 years’ experience with metadata implementations including IBM InfoSphere, Informatica Metadata Manager, ASG-Rochade, Adaptive, and DAG MetaCenter.
- Ability to manage the meta-model including custom attributes, roles, relations, and new data types.
- Experience in integrating the metadata repository with data access and security tools.
- Metadata-related experience with ETL, data modeling tools, relational databases and reporting tools
- Supports modelers in the maintenance of the logical ERwin (or similar tool) models through the development lifecycle.
