Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Objectives:
- To supervise the preparation and the processing of various required financial reports in an accurate and timely manner, in order to assist financial management.
- To search, collate and maintain financial information required for the production and analysis of financial and non financial management reports.
- To ensure effective, timely and accurate implementation of the organization's financial management reporting pack to the company and its shareholders in accordance with the organization's agreed-upon policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines.

Main responsibilities:

Strategic
- Contribute to develop and implement all processes, policies, procedures and standards for finance, in relation to financial control, payments, settlements, and collections, transfers of funds, treasury and management reporting.
- Implement the management reporting processes in company and its major shareholders, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to management on all financial/accounting transactions in compliance with strategic and regulatory requirements.

Accounting
- To apply the assigned accounting system in the preparation and the processing of various financial documents towards providing relevant, timely and accurate financial and management information to senior management in adherence to deadlines. Contribute towards business process improvement resulting in organization growth.
- Review periodic liquidity report and check department's reports.
- Present financial information for the production of the yearly budget, and plan reports in compliance with management needs.
- Prepare and check the daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports in compliance with management's instructions.
- Verify calculations, check data and obtain information for incorrect or incomplete documents in order to ensure the accuracy of reports produced.
- Prepare and/or verify computer input where information is coded for computer processing.
- Undertake initial investigation into discrepancies or shortages of information and data. Maintain accounts and categories within established procedures.
- Check and assist in the preparation of financial reports, statements and returns.
- Check the process of financial recommendations for the production of internal and external reports.
- Obtain investment valuations from department heads for all quoted & unquoted investments for the purposes of updating of carrying values.
- Review daily transactions posted into the system.
- Review related party transactions with memos from operating departments and take measures for disclosure as per IFRS and in regulatory reports
- Prepare required information for external auditors to facilitate their periodic review/audit.
- Develop all accounting systems and practices that comply with international and locally accepted accounting principles, regulations and local applicable laws. Ensure that NIC's accounting practices are in compliance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and internal regulations and CMA and CBK's requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors to ensure that financial results are reported on time
- Review monthly, quarterly and annual balance sheet and profit and loss statements of the company.

Management Reporting
- Assess management accounting processes and related accounting information needed for preparation of management reports. Prepare the periodic management information reports required by the compnay management to understand the financial performance of the company, ensuring accuracy and completion of information.
- Coordinate with Senior Manager Finance & Accounting for the preparation of the Annual Report, Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss statement and other statutory reports, by searching, collating, analyzing and presenting statistical financial data needed for the preparation of management reports.
- Conduct Profit/Cost centre analysis and provide relevant information for inclusion in management reports
- Identify and analyze user requirements for management reports to company and major shareholders, and incorporate the same in the management reporting pack.
- Search, analyze and develop timely and accurate financial management and statistical reports of the company and major shareholders, based on standard and adhoc requirements.
- Maintain close links with the IT department to improve and develop management reporting processes.
- Obtain financial statements of entities eligible for consolidation and consolidate results of Parent company with that of subsidiaries.
- Review monthly MIS reports after receiving the financial ledger from Central Accounts.

People Management
- Monitor performance of direct repartees and guide them in managing their performance by providing appropriate feedback.

Working Hours: Sunday to Thursday From 08:00 to 15:00

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Financial Management
- Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA/CA/CMA
- 4 to 6 years of related experience, preferably in the financial services industry of which a minimum of 2 years should be in a similar position I responsibility.
