Senior Project Manager - Logistics - Kuwait

The Corporate Logistics Team plan, move and control the flow of goods from point of origin to point of consumption across all divisions, markets and brands within Alshaya. Working closely with brand teams to ensure appropriate stock and delivery to store, the team manages a range of complex and diverse activities including shipping, freight, warehouse operations, customs clearance (in-bound and out-bound), compliance and project management.

The Role:

As Senior Project Manager, you will be accountable for the Project Management component of the Corporate Logistics function from concept to completion in accordance with Company Policy and agreed objectives. You will work within approved budget agreed time scale and quality requirements, all the while acting as an ambassador for the Company to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.

Working with senior management, stakeholders and project sponsors, you will define requirements, implement project deliverables and provide project status updates to enable the Logistics Project team to expand into new markets. You will also head up improvements in process and systems, and will aid in the onboarding of new brands through feasibility studies, strategy development, operational support, and controlled project management.

Key Performance Areas include (but are not limited to):

* Managing projects within Logistics from concept to completion in accordance with Company Policy and agreed objectives, controlling scope and formally managing change

* Developing the team by serving as a role model and mentor who promotes an atmosphere of team spirit, resolves conflict in a constructive manner, and challenges others to develop as leaders

* Delivering multiple projects/programs (including cross-functionally) from inception through to implementation, including planning, risk, cost and benefit management

* Preparing achievable project plans and budgets specific to assigned activities, including Capex and operating budgets

* Forecasting likely business benefits and tracking success of project whilst identifying risks, issues and opportunities and providing effective solutions to mitigate, resolve or enhance

* Delivering best in class project governance through the implementation of formal project methodology, delivering clearly defined project deliverables on time, to budget, at the agreed quality

* Providing constructive and accurate communication between Senior Management, Operations Teams, HR, IT, Brands, and Franchise Partners to ensure that issues and obstructions are resolved and milestones are delivered on time and within budget

* Deliver presentations that are engaging, informative, and well-organised in order to enable effective decision-making

* Communicating with stakeholders to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions, identifying opportunities for improvement and making constructive suggestions for change

* Maintaining communication with all Alshaya departments and franchise partners, conducting regular meetings with all third party service providers engaged in projects

* Continually seeking opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen stakeholder relationships

Qualifications & Requirements:

* A background in a senior role within an international shipping, logistics or retail supply chain business (operational management is beneficial but not essential)

* Significant experience managing complex projects from inception through implementation in challenging environments

* Strong relationship building skills to enable robust and effective stakeholder management

* Experience managing and developing specialist project teams that can operate in matrix environment
