Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Kuwait. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the cost management and quantity surveying aspects of construction projects, ensuring that they are completed within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all cost management and quantity surveying activities for construction projects in Kuwait.
- Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and other documentation.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess the progress and quality of work.
- Evaluate and negotiate variations and change orders with contractors and clients.
- Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes and participate in dispute resolution processes.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective cost control and financial management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying and cost management.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Western Nationality.
- Minimum of 18 years of experience
- Worked for at least 10+ years as a Quantity Surveyor
- Must have experience on airports and car parks
- Understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control principles.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools such as Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions based on data and analysis.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and project teams.
- Proven track record of successfully managing cost and quantity surveying aspects of large-scale construction projects.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
