Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

As a Visual Designer, you will work as part of the Central eCommerce user experience team. You will be responsible for creating visually engaging web-based and mobile user interfaces for brand eCommerce products. You will produce a consistently high level of quality designs from concept to execution, including those for desktop, web and mobile devices at a variety of resolutions, creating and iterating on graphic elements, assets and visual treatments that reflect the diverse range of brands.

Other responsibilities will include:
- Designing layouts and templates with a focus on user accessibility and experience
- Collaborating with front-end developers in creating HTML and CSS-friendly designs
- Working with design, merchandising and marketing teams to deliver creative, promotional and brand requirements
- Attending briefings and creative reviews to brainstorm, and providing feedback on business objectives and GUI considerations
- Ensuring website design complies with relevant legal and accessibility guidelines.

In the course of your duties, you will be expected to document brand standards and style guides, building up a portfolio of high quality templates which reflect the individual needs of each brand. You will also help manage costs by actively improving upon existing processes and innovating new, more efficient methods of executing designs.

Requirements

- A minimum of 4 years web and mobile application visual design
- Experience producing online creative solutions from concept / initiative to delivery and implementation
- Experience in designing multi-lingual websites, mobile sites and mobile apps
- Understanding of common web design software: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) in particular
- Expertise in typography and designing web layouts
- Comprehensive knowledge of HTML/CSS, and JavaScript/JQuery.

The ideal candidate will possess effective team leadership and management skills, as well as a proven ability to motivate, collaborate, influence and drive consensus or take the lead on decisions. Additionally, experience with one or more of the following is a plus: email marketing, social media, enterprise content management systems.
