Chief Accountant

Job description / Role

This role is an individual contributor reporting to the country manager in Libya and functional to the Finance head in North Africa.

Oil and Gas experience desirable.

- Deliver invoices to Company Customer, and follow up the payment process with finance, Audit till get payment transaction completed. Overdue invoices need to be followed up carefully with the customer.
- Working with audit to prepare the balance sheet every year, that need to be submitted to the Tax office.
- Working with Tax office to review the balance sheet and based on the prepared balance sheet.
- Review employee expenses to ensure all are compliance to eligible costs and under policy on monthly basis.
- Complete the INAS process payment on monthly basis.
- Prepare and analyze the monthly budget/forecast to actual variance reports per program and Branch
- Managing the receipts and deposits of cash and bank transactions, including foreign transfers, to ensure the accuracy of the financial position of the organization.
- Being responsible for the integrity of the accounting system by ensuring that accounting transactions are correctly posted and financial and management reports are produced on a timely basis.

Requirements

Experience: 5 - 7 years

Industry: preferred Oil services company

Skills & qualification:
- Have basic knowledge of Libyan Tax and local accounting and statutory rules and process
- Have experience in cash collection and customer follow-ups
- Experience in office admin and petty cash handling
