Job description / Role
Our client is an international project management consultancy with offices across the globe. Due to expansion they are recruiting for an Engineering Manager to work on a major high-rise, mixed-use development project based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
As Engineering Manager you will have overall responsibility to manage design services of the Design Consultants employed by the Project Owner and to manage the engineering processes of contractors.
Responsibilities Include:
- Research, investigate, coordinate and introduce new development in building systems, methods and technologies which will enhance efficiency, cost and time.
- Co-ordinate with vendors, contractors and suppliers to identify latest innovations in construction techniques (civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical works) and incorporating it into the design.
- Manage the design process scheduling design meetings, value engineering, progress updates, owner approvals
- Co-ordinate with the Designers to ensure appropriate products and systems are incorporated into the design
- Conduct construction reviews, follow mock-up construction and review
- Manage the shop drawing submittal and review process
- Schedule, conduct and document all job meetings with Owner and Architect
- Prepare project status and financial reports data
- Manage project close outs, including securing warranties, guarantees, acceptance of work, sub-contract and vendor close and records retention
Requirements
- 12 years+ experience of formal design and construction experience
- Degree Qualified
- Extensive knowledge of MEPF issues, construction cost, scheduling, estimating and engineering principles and techniques
- Strong knowledge of various construction methodologies and materials, installation procedures and tolerances and their limitations
- Knowledge of Prolog, Aconex, Microsoft Project and Primavera scheduling
