Product Manager Group Treasury

Job description / Role

The growth strategy of Group Treasury is built on the offering of a wide range of new (to the bank) and more complex treasury products. These products will be offered to a variety of counter-parties in the GCC and other new markets, out of our existing and new locations.

The successful implementation and delivery of the Treasury growth strategy is dependent upon the growth of other business areas such as corporate banking and Islamic banking. In addition, there is a need for Treasury to work more closely with support functions i.e. back office, information technology, finance, and control functions like compliance, risk and legal.

Responsible for designing and implementing Group-wide Treasury Product Development. To facilitate strategic and tactical plans for development, approval and launch /implementation of new treasury products across the Group with a particular emphasis on Head office Treasury. Maintenance and review of existing Treasury Products.

Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for designing and implementing Group-wide product development life cycle methodology.
- Responsible for implementing new product launches globally while ensuring adherence with the Group New Product approval process at all time.
- Develop product marketing strategy, positioning, pricing strategy and business objectives.
- Facilitate the new product approval process.
- Develop Product program and training presentation/material.
- Implementation of treasury products
- Develop comprehensive strategy for launching the product, with detailed sales and execution plans.
- Review and maintenance of existing product inventory and ensuring updates as and when needed.
- Support global marketing of approved treasury products

Key Activities:
- Develop strategic and tactical plans for prioritizing new business and product development in coordination with the business units.
- Manage new products development by working with cross sectional teams (IT, Operations, legal, compliance, credit and market Risk.
- Submit the new product proposals and obtain sign-off from the Investment Committee/NPC.
- Providing all stakeholders, front-office/back office, IT risk with required information and organize briefing/training sessions.
- Documenting the proceedings of the NPC.

Requirements

- Bachelors or higher degree from a reputable university;
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 5 years in Treasury front office.
- 2 years prior experience of Treasury Product Management with a major regional / international bank

Knowledge of:
- Extensive experience in Treasury Product Management, over a broad range of Treasury products
- Good understanding of product life cycles, pricing, marketing strategy and product implementation.
- Experience in end-to-end processes for trading & sales of a wide variety of products, including complex structured derivatives.
- Good understanding of the system architecture & system requirements for processing of treasury transactions.
- Understanding of various Treasury and back office systems such K+, TOMS and Fenics.
- Good understanding of the legal matters and documentation requirements of treasury transactions. Cross border issues of selling of treasury products as well as enforceability of contracts in GCC etc.
- Good understanding of compliance issues around the offering of complex treasury products, client suitability (Regulatory restrictions, AML, Insider trading, etc.)
- Understanding of accounting for treasury products
- Good understanding of the current methodologies for measuring / capturing market and credit risk in treasury operations
