Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Brief Description of Job Function:
- Identify and cultivate profitable sales opportunities for Pellets and carry out effective Planning of Sales to yield optimum performance in the area of his responsibility.
- Coordinate and Implement Company's Policies, Procedures, Long Term Plans, Budgets, and Sales Contracts based on approved company strategy.
- Coordinate effectively with Iron Ore Supplies, Shipping, Production , Process and Quality Control Departments within the company and with other outside concerned parties such as Agents, Surveyors & Assayers.
- Keep abreast of the developments in the Iron Ore Market and Shipping & Freight Markets worldwide and prepare relevant reports, which assist Management during discussions and negotiations with customers and Ship-owners.
- Organize and conduct Marketing and research studies, as applicable.
- Secure and monitor Sales Contracts, Agreements, Addendum and Purchase Orders and maintain sound Customer Relations in areas of his responsibilities .
- Prepare and monitor Sales Schedules on annual, quarterly and monthly basis.
- Project a positive image and reputation of the Company.

DETAILED DUTIES & Responsibilities:
- Follow-up execution of approved Marketing plans of Pellets.
- Prepare annually, the 5-year Sales Plans, related budgetary data, Annual Sales Plans, Schedules etc., based on the Market Research and Company's established Production and expansions Plans.
- Prepare Annual Budgets for Marketing and Sales.
- Prepare quarterly Marketing Action Plans in the designated Market Segments and Plan Commercial and Technical visits to Customers periodically .
- Co-ordinate and Negotiate with Customers periodically in designated Market Segments and prepare Sales Agreements, Addendum, Agency Agreements etc., in line with the approved guidelines, policies and procedures of the Company.
- Develop dossiers on all Customers, regularly, for annual I spot price negotiations.
- Evaluate and recommend new pellet markets, if any, and pursue the same.
- Prepare Annual, quarterly and monthly pellet shipment schedules.
- Prepare periodical Activity Reports, Schedules, and Market Information Reports for review and submission to the Management.
- Provide Customers with offers I Performa Invoices and draft Letters of Credit.
- Liaise with Logistics Section for nomination of suitable vessels in the agreed laycan at discharge ports with Customers for shipments on CFR basis.
- Accept nominations of vessels in the agreed laycan at loading port, from Customers for shipments on FOB basis.
- Coordinate with Production department to ensure availability of requisite quality of pellets in the stockyard for the accepted shipments.
- Ensure establishment of Letters of Credit and amendments thereof, by various Customers.
- Co-ordinate with Finance Department on the receipt of Letters of Credit and amendments, through banking channels.
- Supervise and co-ordinate with Commercial Officers and Trainees, for all the Pre-shipment and Post-shipment Documentation and Activities to ensure accuracy in the Documents for efficient and timely submission for negotiation and to avoid delay in commencement of discharge at discharge ports.
- Liaise with Process and Quality Control regarding the quality of pellets being shipped against the Contractual specifications with Customers.
- Follow-up with Customers for timely receipt of the funds (Invoice values, Demurrage I Despatch settlements etc.,) due to the Company.
- Process and arrange for the payments due to the Customers I Agents.
- Study the various Market Reports I Journals, regularly, to keep abreast of the latest developments and trends in the Iron Ore, Pellets, DRIIHBI and Steel Markets and submit relevant Information Reports to the Management .
- Co-ordinate closely with the Data Processing sections for design, development and maintenance of Management Information Reports of the Commercial and Marketing Department.
- Visit Customers periodically along with the Management for Commercial discussions I meetings and participate in business discussions with customers during their visit to the Company .
- Co-ordinate with Secretary of Department the Customers' visit to the Company, liaise with Public Relations Department and Service Sections regarding Visa and other necessary arrangements.
- Compile statistical information related to the Department.
- Provide the necessary training for the Officers, Commercial Assistants and Trainees in the Commercial Department.
- Should be aware of the general requirements of quality and environment management systems as per ISO 9001:2008 & 14001:2004 respectively and comply with the same.

Requirements

- Sound academic background with graduate qualification in Engineering I Business Management I Marketing Management.
- Additional training in Foreign Trade with an Institute of repute.

"Qualifications may be relaxed with the permission of the Management depending on the candidate's previous work experience in similar job."

12- 15 years of experience in a Supervisory I Managerial position, with proven records:
- Commercial
- International Marketing
- Procurement division of a large manufacturing industry preferably in Iron Ore
- Pelletizing
- Steel Industry.
- Additional experience in Purchasing, Legal knowledge of Contracts and Agreements, Warehousing, Material Planning and Control would be an added advantage

PERSONAL QUALITIES:
- High degree of intelligence, presence of mind , pleasant personality traits with keen acumen to study the market situation.
- Initiative, drive, determination, analytical mind, inquisitiveness , capacity for accurate forecast and judgment.
- Sound Accounting I Management background, helpful m budgeting and database maintenance in a fully computerized environment.
- Very good Communication & Reporting skills and ability to get along very well and carry on business relations with various persons of different nationalities.
- Flair for extensive travel, flexibility in dealings and approach, sincerity, loyalty and integrity to the Company.
- Consistent high quality performance, despite tremendous increase in the volume and complexity of work handled.
