Job description / Role
General Manager (MEP) - Oman
Linum Consult’s client is a main contractor currently seeking a General Manager specialising in Building Services to manage the operations of the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing the overall operations and performance of the company
- Approving all site activities and project schedules
- Certifying and checking all outgoing purchase orders and quotations
- Certifying approved vendor list
- Coordinating weekly meetings with project managers and site engineers to go over site progress
- Coordinating weekly non-technical meetings to go over Admin, HR, Finance and PR related issues
- Ensuring the company meets yearly revenue and cost targets
- Actively developing business through meeting with companies to find new work
- Meeting with directors on a weekly basis to follow up on project progress and requesting any support required
- Raising employee requests to directors and holding interviews with prospective candidates
- Determining training needs for all staff and promoting continuous development throughout the workplace
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- At least 15 years’ experience in a management position within the electrical/mechanical sector
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent work ethic and motivation
- Excellent business development and staff training skills
