Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Head of the Enterprise Project Office (EPO) will ensure that the proper governance structure is in place to deliver projects and change requests across the organization, and ensure adherence to the governance model.

Reporting to the DGM Head of Enterprise Transformation Office, Head of EPO will have the following duties:

Project Governance:

To develop and maintain the project management governance model by setting the rules for:
- Delivery frame work
- Project Management methodology
- Document templates
- Reporting structure and provide cohesive templates
- Escalation structure and issue resolution process
- Maintain project performance metrics against set standards
- Track dependencies between projects
- Manage the Bank project Management portal

To develop and maintain change requests (CR) governance model by setting the rules for:
- CR delivery frame work
- Document templates
- Escalation structure and issue resolution

To set the rules for proper prioritization of business demands toward Projects and CRs:
- Identify capacity vs demand
- Work with business owners to define priorities in alignment with Strategy office
- Co-chair Change Advisory board(s) for projects and CR prioritization
- Support the office of the Head of Enterprise Transformations on project co-sponsoring responsibilities

Build project Management Maturity within the bank by:
- Working closely with various business partners to build awareness, understanding, implementation and ongoing management & support of PMO policies, processes, measures, tools and reporting, etc
- Impart customized project management training
- Advise on any project related issues

To be responsible for a macro-overview of all projects, to guarantee that they are being properly managed and delivered across the bank:
- Providing reports to steering committees and ExCo, as appropriate and providing planning support for cross-divisions activities
- Identify overall risks and work on mitigating them

Support the delivery of successful projects by:
- Managing project reporting processes
- Assisting with project resource management and mediation, in the event of issues
- Identify projects at risk and assist in bringing them back on track
- To provide support, advice and assistance to people and/or departments across the organisation managing their own projects.

Requirements

Monitor Project Performance:
- Responsible for monitoring project performance against the approved scope, schedule, quality and cost
- To ensure the maintenance of metrics to measure project performance and the enforcement of standards
- Track and review cross-dependencies between projects

Keep both, the Management and project community informed:
- Issue project reports and periodical updates to the Management
- Govern the banks Project Management portal
- Escalate risks and project performance observations to the Management, as required
- Ensure that the concerned stakeholders and control functions are engaged during the process of implementation.


To serve as BankDhofars authority on project management best practice
- Maintain the banks Project Management and Governance framework, standards and best practices
- Chair and lead the Project Governance Committee
- Serve as the official source of project tools, templates and other project aids within the bank

To be responsible for the recruitment, supervision, appraisal, induction, development and performance management of staff working in the EPO

Other tasks and Duties:
- To adhere to BankDhofars policies and procedures and Project Governance Framework.
- To be responsible for personal learning and development; to support the learning and development of subordinates; and to educate the organisation on projects.
- To administrate and organise own work; to ensure that it is accurate and meets quality targets, reasonable deadlines and reporting requirements.
- To undertake any other tasks, duties or projects which may arise from time to time which are commensurate with the general level of this post and as directed by the office of the DGM-Head of Enterprise Transformation.

Accountability
- Responsible and accountable for the overall management of all staff working in the EPO.
- Responsible for ensuring that proper governance is applied to projects throughout the project lifecycle.
