Employment: Full Time

The QHSE Coordinator supports the Waste Treatment Project(s) Manager(s) in implementing, controlling and ensuring the effectiveness of the QHSE integrated management system of Suez Environnement Middle-East.

In the framework of the Group’s QHSE policies, he/she guarantees the company’s performance improvement in the health risk prevention - safety- environment- industrial safety.

Main Accountabilities

Steering QHSE processes
- Supports the Project(s) Manager(s) in elaborating the local QHSE policy and in ensuring its communication within the project(s).
- Elaborates and monitors a QHSE Global Action-Plan (GAP) resulting from audits, control, inspections and QHSE meetings.
- Supports the Project(s) Manager(s) in conducting the annual QHSE Management Review with its report.
- Monitors the QHSE performance of the Plant through key indicators

Communicating QHSE
- Communicates on the QHSE policy, objectives, performance, good practices, rules and other particular subjects related to QHSE through e-mails, meetings, TBT, safety flash, etc.
- Gives alerts on QHSE matters within and between the projects as well as to the Pole management
- Identifies new opportunities for raising awareness (new activities, documents, etc) and ensures their implementation.
- Prepares and submits technical and process REX (Return of Experience) progress sheets related to QHSE.

Controlling the QHSE compliance
- Ensures internal procedures and standards are in line with regulatory requirements.
- Plans, organizes and conducts QHSE audits
- Performs or/and organizes regular inspection of the sites to assess the company HSE performance and to ensure compliance with the applicable requirements (internal and regulatory)
- Monitors the QHSE performance of the project(s) through KPI, KCI and KRI
- Ensures the availability and reliability of the QHSE documentation within the project

Training HSE
- Supports Oman HR Officer in planning and organizing the QHSE trainings
- Trains the project(s) personnel on managerial and technical QHSE subjects
- Conduct safety induction for all new employees and visitors on the project(s)

Reporting HSE
- Prepares and submits QHSE monthly report to his functional and hierarchical managers.
- Reports, all incidents including near misses, accidents, environmental incidents and industrial incidents.
- Conducts incidents and accidents investigation and analysis using recognized root-cause analysis techniques

Providing technical support
- Ensures the availability of all necessary QHSE documents
- Supports technically the project(s) teams on all QHSE related subjects especially for activities at risk (eg. Confined space entry).

Internal:
- Member of the Project(s) Crisis Management Unit
- Member of the HSE Committee on sites

External:
- External Service Prevention and Protection.
- Labour inspection.
- Notified inspection bodies.
- Fire Brigade and emergency services.
- Education institutes.
- Neighboring industrial establishments.

Requirements

- Recognized QHSE certifications
- Experience in QHSE management
- Arabic speaker (a plus)
- English speaker (a must)
- Basic Microsoft Office skills (excel, word and powerpoint)
- Dynamic, autonomous and great communication skills
- Has the authority to stop any activity presenting a serious and imminent danger.
- Must announce all dysfunctions in particular those concerning HSE field.
- Must comply with all safety rules and instructions
- Can ask for HR positive recognition and disciplinary sanctions for the personnel within his perimeter.
- Develop and expand people capability through regular and comprehensive feedback.
- Minimize environmental pollution by optimizing the use of energy and material and by ensuring clean environment on his working area.
