Accountant General

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team in Oman. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in shipping and logistics industry with a proven track record of managing financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The Accountant General will play a key role in overseeing the financial activities, preparing reports, and providing strategic financial guidance to the management team.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the overall accounting and financial operations of the shipping and logistics company in Oman.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulations.
- Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures to mitigate financial risk.
- Manage and oversee the budgeting and forecasting process to support business planning and decision-making.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities for financial audits and inspections.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the management team to support business growth and profitability.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master's degree or professional certification.
- Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role in the shipping and logistics industry.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make strategic recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong leadership and team management skills to effectively oversee and mentor the accounting team.
