Business Development Manager - Lighting Products (Oman and Iran Regions)

THE CLIENT: Started as a local electrical company in the 70's. Its reputation for service, safety and quality has seen it grow into one of the UAE’s largest suppliers of electrical products and services.

They have grown beyond the United Arab Emirates to become a regional player. They have offices in Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar. Serving both domestic and corporate clients, the company delivers a world-class range of electrical solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish, maintain and develop long-term structural partnership with a selected group of operating specifiers (Architects & Lighting Designers) in the Oman and Iran, with an objective to become their preferred partner for realisation of lighting solutions in their projects.
- Deliver sales objectives by achieving agreed specification & sales targets.
- Drive, monitor and coordinate specified projects.
- Meet agreed sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Maintain and expand customer base by building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
- Recommend product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; tracking competitors.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
- Accomplish sales and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Manage company image and branding position insuring a consistent and progressive company.
- Other duties as assigned and required.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree, Architectural, Marketing, Engineering or equivalent.
- MBA is preferred
- 10 to 15 years in the lighting industry in a consultative selling to UK Specification channel
- In-depth knowledge of lighting technology
- Knowledge of Oman and Iran market
- Experience working in a dynamic environment with evolving requirements and high expectations
- Strong program and project management skills with focus on quality and attention to detail
- Excellent writing and design skills, especially in conveying customer requirements
- Ability to analyze and assess opportunities and make recommendations to senior staff
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, progressive environment
- Self-directed, highly motivated, results-driven.
