Hill International is seeking to employ a Business Systems Engineer, with Airport construction experience, for one of its on-going projects in Oman

Reports To: Design Lead, Senior Resident Engineer
Division: Project Management

- Review contractor submittals within agreed time-scales and respond in accordance with the approved procedures.
- Ensure all documents are registered correctly within EDMS.
- Ensure residual risk is minimised across all systems within the Business Systems Portfolio.
- Maintain progress against Performance Review goals and training.
- Ensuring the Contractor delivers the Business Systems Portfolio in accordance with the Employer’s Requirements and Conditions of Contract
- Review and oversee the design and delivery of Business Systems Portfolio in accordance with project QA/QC procedures
- Participate in meetings and workshops related to Business Systems Portfolio and respective interfaces, integrations, design and delivery.
- Work closely with the Client, Systems Providers and Suppliers to deliver the Business Systems in a timely manner.
- Check in a systematic manner that Contractor’s deliverables are prepared in the correct format, numbered correctly and controlled in appropriate schedule of sub-mittals and within the EDMS in accordance with the approved procedures.
- Confirm Contractor’s design deliverables are in accordance with Employer’s Re-quirements.
- Assist Design Lead and SRE in planning and coordination of Contractor’s submissions in relation to design and delivery of Business Systems Portfolio
- Carry out all duties as agreed with the line manager
- Update, maintains and manages Risks and Issues register with respect to Busi-ness Systems Portfolio
- Review samples and benchmarks
- Review Pre-Installation Assembly and verifies Installation inspections
- Witness Pre-Installation Testing, Testing and Commissioning and System Proving
- Review O&M manuals and As-Built drawings
- Communicates with the Contractors on matters related to the quality of the exe-cuted work.
- Inform the SRE of all required deviations from the project revealed during the project lifecycle.
- Investigate reports and advise on unusual circumstances that may arise during the life of the project.
- Evaluate and assess the Contractors' proposals for the execution of works
- To stop with immediate effect, any activity that, in the judgement of the individual, constitutes an unacceptable risk to the safety of any person, or the environment.
- To advise the Contractor immediately if any activity is observed to be carried out in a manner that compromises the quality of the product, that the works may not be accepted as part of the permanent works.

Requirements

- Recognised degree in an Engineering / IT / Scientific discipline or equivalent
- Sound understanding of IT technology/Business Systems concepts. Must have a good understanding of business systems architecture, software architectures, Oracle E-Business Suite, MS products, development tools
- Experience in the delivery and/or design of business systems and operational systems within an airport environment such as:
- Business Systems ( Primary)
- ERP
- Service Desk
- CMMS
- Operational Systems ( Good Understanding Knowledge)
- AODB – Airport Operational Database
- IB – Information Broker
- RMS – Resource Management System
- MIS - Management Information Systems
- Previous experience of construction environments
- Experience working in a multi-nationality environment
- Total work experience of minimum 10 years
- On hand experience of business systems delivery of minimum of 5 years
- International experience is a must, GCC preferred
- Fluency in spoken and written English
