Civil Design Engineer

This job vacancy is for a full-time permanent position with a European Engineering Construction Consultancy for their offices in Oman in the Middle East.

ROLE
• In this position, you will be engaged in the design of Civil components such as Culverts, Retaining Walls and Channels
• You will use your experience of the relevant international design practices and standards to oversee and provide Civil Engineering Designs
• In addition, you will carry out calculations, coordinate the preparation of drawings and prepare design reports and specifications.
• Independently develop engineering designs for Civils projects
• In addition, Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, specifications, procurement documents, proposal evaluations, and technical reports.
• You will also manage junior engineers working in your department and coordinate production with other departments.

SALARY
• This is a full-time permanent position with a well-known engineering consultancy in the Middle East
• A TOTAL SALARY this figure includes accommodation and transport allowance 1100 -1300 OMR per month.
• Medical insurance cover is provided on top of the basic salary
• Mobilisation flights and visa costs.

Salary:
OMR 1,100 to 1,300 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

REQUIREMENTS

Please Also note, this is a pure Design role for a Civil Engineering Design Professional.
• A Pure Designer - Someone with Civil Engineering Design experience. We are not seeking Project Management or Construction Management candidates for this vacancy.
• Highly skilled in Civil Engineering Design with particular experience of the following: Channels, Retaining Walls, Culverts
• Circa 7-10 years of post-degree experience. Please note we are not seeking any more than 13 years’ experience, this is reflected in the salary.
• A BSc degree in Civil Engineering is a requirement a 3 or 5 year civil engineering degree qualification. If you have a Masters as well this would be highly desirable although NOT essential
• Previous experience which must be shown on your CV of working with similar Design Engineering Consultancy organisations. We are looking for titles such as Design Engineer Civils or Civil Design Engineer
• Strong understanding of international codes and standards for Civil Engineering Design projects
• Advanced knowledge of Civil 3D is a requirement as well as AutoCAD experience. Please ensure that you provide detailed information on all the design software you are familiar with and please also state what level, such as Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.
• Excellent English language skills.
