Electrical Engineer

Job description / Role

Independently develops methods and solutions for engineering problems; selects the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the various design engineering requirement on infrastructure related projects or studies.

Completes a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analysis within the electrical engineering discipline.

The Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in engineering theories and practices for power distribution systems, distribution substation, main distribution board, motor control center, lighting, and electrical designs.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure all technical reviews and design engineering compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and ordinances.
- Prepares electrical engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
- Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
- Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
- Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
- Check the work of the contractor done as per the latest revision of Issued for construction drawings.
- Visual Inspection of all work being carried out, day today Monitoring of the site works in compliance with the specifications and IFC drawings
- Checking of the progress of the works submitted by the Contractor every month for IPC Bill purposes.
- Preparation of weekly progress report
- Preparation of progress reports for client and photographs of ongoing activities on site.
- Drafting of letters to address the issues to contractor and client.
- Answering of technical queries and solving technical problems
- Preparation of daily progress report.
- Preparation of snag list with all the parties at the time of final handing over.
- Follow up with the contractor for outstanding and pending issues with contractor
- Supervising the Site Inspectors and reviewing the inspectors RFIS after inspecting in compliance with the specifications and IFC drawings.

Requirements

- Degree in Electrical Engineering related subject,
- 10 years postgraduate experience of similar work with progressively increasing responsibility.
- Experience of Power supplies, SLD, high voltage and low voltage electrical installation work, electrical plant and machinery, testing and commissioning
- Working overseas or in the region essential.
- Spoken and written English is essential
- Driving licence
