Employment: Full Time

Client urgently seeks to secure the services of an Environmental Lead for a major project. You will be from a consultancy background and will have been involved in a number of Rail/Metro projects to date. Your experience has included being the lead on the EIA reporting and submission process.

Responsibilities:
* Responsible for developing the framework and monitoring the implementation of the environmental strategy, business objectives and performance measurements to enable the function to meet its responsibilities for management of key environmental impacts and mitigations in land and marine environments associated with this project.
* Responsible for analysing environmental and business risks for undertaking this project.
* Playing a lead role in developing and implementing an appropriate Environmental Management System (EMS) to support the project and which delivers added value and efficiency.
* Lead the development, implementation, review and maintenance of processes to meet legal and business requirements.
* Lead in the development and promotion of the sustainability strategy on behalf of the function Manage relationships with key stakeholders and regulators community groups and main contractors.

Requirements

Candidates will need to be working as an environmental manager / lead on rail projects across the Middle East. Ideally candidates will come from a consulting background.

Your experience has included being the lead on the EIA reporting and submission process.

* Relevant degree or Post Graduate degree in environmental engineering, science or Planning Membership of a relevant professional institution [IEMA/CEnv].
* Knowledge and experience of the railway, bus, and or water ferry construction and operations Sound understanding of British or EU environmental legal requirements.
* Proven experience of successfully managing environmental issues Excellent interpersonal, communication and report writing skills.
* Experience of managing an ISO 14001:2004 compliant environmental management system.
