Job description / Role
Dynamic and visionary General Manager required for a leading Government Authority in Oman
Position profile: To direct, promote and coordinate the operations to contribute in improving, developing performance of the Authority and help to achieve its vision, mission and goals to provide outstanding service to their beneficiaries.
- Assist the Board in the design and implementation of overall strategic and business plans.
- Lead the executive management to achieve the following: (the Authority’s vision, mission, strategy, objectives, annual plans, budget, organization, operations, risk management, contracts/agreements, studies/researches, investment portfolio, etc.)
- Compliance with Government laws, internal regulations applied by the Authority.
- Ensuring regular update of processes and systems.
- Implementation of appropriate IT systems in line with the approved IT strategy and eGovernment.
- Quality of performance in accordance with quality standards approved by the Authority.
- Timely closing of annual accounts in accordance with international accounting and reporting standards.
- Implementation of audit recommendations within the agreed timeframe.
Requirements
- Omani National
- Ph.D. or Masters degree in business administration or financial accounting.
- Not less than 9 years of relevant work experience in financial services industry, with at least 5 years experience in a similar role/senior position is required.
- Strong managerial, strategic, commercial and financial analytical skills are required.
- Strong knowledge of and ability to assess aspects of financial institution's strategy and operations are required.
- Excellent leadership skills, people management skills and decision making ability are required.
- Excellent conflict management, problem solving, analytical and communication skills are required.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic languages (speaking, reading and writing) is required.
