Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Plan and Execute cooking and catering plans for food services to meet demand of employees.
- Satisfy internal & external customers such as facility staff, facility workers and visitors / guest at plant during catering services.
- Plan recipes and prepare schedule of weekly menu.
- Ensure cooking of good quality and tasty food within a budget and maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer satisfaction.
- Assist a team of chefs and mess store / catering assistants/helper for running the day-to-day cooking and catering operations and services.
- Responsible for monitoring the quality of the food and service.
- Maintaining and ordering supplies with coordination of procurement & contract team.
- Ensuring that health and safety regulations are strictly observed and recorded
- Monitoring the quality of the product and service provided.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent food services & issues as they arise and dealing with the consequences.
- Ensure Halal food standards at mess.
- Ensure hygiene and sanitization at mess facility.
- Ensure arrangement of stock of all raw & cooked foods at plant, Maintain and order supplies
- Arrange & manage store MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) of raw foods at store.
- Arrange all raw food products volume and categories as per mess catering & store plan.
- Prepare the SOPs for all types of food cooking & storage at facility.
- Ensure standards temperature for cooking / grilled of foods (BBQ, chops, roasts & others etc.).
- Ensure the food is served in a good presentable manner.
- Ensure packing of food in a proper wrap material and ensure maintain temperature during leftover food or refrigerate them for next serving.
- Ensure proper use of PPE during cooking and serving.
- Ensure records are maintained accurately.
- People & HSE Management.
- Creates a positive work environment.
- Participate in management and supervisory meetings when required.
- Support in all employee engagement, development, performance management & employee retention initiatives.
- To ensure periodic medical examination of workers to avoid contamination of any kind.
- To ensure food rejected waste are disposed of as per environment and health and safety standards.
- Ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health, safety and Environment.
- Ability to prepare recipes and cook food for people from different culture.
- Knowledge of food hygiene (including hazard analysis and critical control points) and food preparation
- Understanding of Halal food & food allergen
- Knowledge of food preservation & storage
- Knowledge of SSOPs and its implementation
- Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Must be alert, strive for accuracy, and have ability to exercise independent thinking and judgment, be a self- motivator, and attention to detail
- Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability
- Integrity, discretion and loyalty

Requirements

Education/ Qualifications and Experience:

- Diploma in Hotel Management
- Certified in Culinary
- Course in Mess Management & catering services
- Overall experience of 8 years or more with 3+ years in cooking and catering services position
