A large leading Oil and Gas business based in Muscat are currently looking for a Head of Marketing to come and join their experienced leadership team

The Role
Head of Marketing is responsible for providing effective and efficient control over the strategy of Venture Offering, Strategic Marketing, and Retail Offerings & Digital Platforms functions. He or she oversees the end-to-end development and commercialization of new ventures, the development and deployment of marketing strategy and guidelines, and the deployment of customer digitalization initiatives to ensure competitiveness and market penetration.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic marketing

* Oversee the development of strategic marketing and branding guidelines, based on market intelligence, consumer studies, and the overall retail strategy
* Define the brand architecture for retail, and develop the brand manual and guidelines
* Provide strategic guidance on the development of brand strategic entry/standards and assessment of brand entry
* Ensure adherence to branding guidelines across networks
* Provide strategic guidance on the development and deployment of marketing campaign on a global level
* Evaluate the performance of marketing campaigns and ensure the achievements of return on marketing investments

Ideation and venture scouting

* Oversee and promote the identification of viable business ideas for Omani and International markets, leveraging the advantage provided by the retail presence / integrated Value Chain and ensuring coherence of venture to overall retail strategy
* Develop the business plan for the identified business ideas / services and facilitate the approval process with the leadership
* Guide the development, launch, and scaling of new ventures
* Oversee the management and performance of new ventures, and ensure financial and investment objectives are achieved
* Communicate the performance of new ventures, escalate identified risks and resources.
* Develop, retain, and facilitate the sharing of digital innovation capabilities.

Retail offering and digital platforms

* Develop innovative customer journey experience and drive initiatives to achieve it
* Oversee optimization efforts cross-country projects / partnerships
* Oversee the identification and implementation of initiatives to improve / optimize in-station digital offering and mobile app
* Ensure the adoption of digital standards across the retail businesses
* Define guidelines for platforms / systems integration (i.e. IT platforms) and ensure synergies across networks
* Drive global initiatives to collect and track customer data and the analysis of data to unlock business insights

Key interactions

* Corporate functions: Finance & Strategy, Corporate Identity and Culture (Branding), Digitalization, Market intelligence
* OpCo/subsidiary functions: B2C, Marketing/branding, IT/digital
* External: External consultants, IT system providers, Marketing agencies, Vendors and suppliers

Requirements

*Education requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or in a technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent)
* Master's degree is preferable

Language

* English: Advanced
* Command of other languages is preferable Background and experience Competencies and skills

Key requirements

* 10-15 years of experience in the field with 5 years of experience in a team lead role
* Considerable experience with entrepreneurship, strategy development, digital product development, business planning, and future visioning is preferred
* Behavioural: Customer centricity, results oriented, critical and analytical thinking, relationships building, team leadership, conceptual thinking, teamwork and collaboration, appetite for risk
* Managerial: Strategic planning, project management, people management, decision making, risk management
* Personal: Communication skills, time management
* Functional: Data analysis, marketing, business acumen, customer experience
