Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Ability to fault find and work under pressure.
- Self Starter Individual.
- Understanding of basic to complex Electrical schematics.
- Commissioning and testing of Transformers and Switchgear
- Participate in the day to day health and safety activities of the whole team.
- Willingness to work in shifts and be available for call outs when required.
- Execute work in the Low, Medium and High Voltage Maintenance field to insure that Sohar Aluminium’s Plant is being operated in a safe, efficient manner and ensure quality of work.
- Analyze risks before work execution.
- Perform work to Sohar Aluminium’s standard work procedures and practices, obey plant and department rules.
- Carry out the preventive and predictive maintenance program.
- Operate and Maintain Low, Medium and High Voltage Equipment up to 220kV.
- Become competent to operate Plant from Local and L2 Systems.
- Carry out isolation and lockouts according to Standards when certified to do so.
- Define the protected areas and work areas and issue authorization or work permits.
- Ensure and Maintain departments and workplace 5S Standard. Basic SAP Maintenance USER to create maintenance and materials requests.

Requirements

- Diploma Electrical Engineering and (preferably) 4 years of industrial experience. Previous experience with High Voltage switchgear will be advantageous.
or
- High school + NVQ National Vocational qualification in Electrical Engineering with 6 years of industrial experience.
- Previous experience with High Voltage switchgear will be advantageous
