Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Performs quality test and online inspection to determine the physical and mechanical attributes of the product produce on line and ensuring that all products produce are conforming to the set standards to meet customer satisfaction.
- Assists in control and assurance of products and process quality in accordance with the quality principles including developing and implementing quality improvement processes in the areas of material control, acceptance sampling and measurement systems.
- Report immediately any quality issue to QC section Head for immediate resolution of such.
- Check the physical appearance of the sheet if it meets the standard specification using the train viewer and by naked eye.
- Conduct in-line inspection to all machines assigned during his shift to ensure that machine output are of good / acceptable quality.
- Ensure that retain samples of every roll produced are recorded, kept and stored for easier accessibility when retail samples are needed for confirmation.
- Calibrate the BETA control for new correction factor as needed.
- Conduct weekly calibration on Hunter lab Color quest equipment.
- Perform laboratory test (Intrinsic Viscosity, Coefficient of Friction & Tensile Testing) in absence of Laboratory Engineer and as the needs arise.
- Continuous self-development skills on how to conduct Quality Control task to minimize rejection rate and customer complaints.
- Ensure personal compliance with the company quality system, BRC Global Standards, Food Packaging Hygiene and safety guidelines and standards.
- Participates on the quality qualification / trial runs and reports results.
- Recommend ways to improve quality checks to trap defective product in production line.
- React skillfully in delicate situations, listens actively and interacts with people.
- Inspects all equipment / machines for compliance with all applicable fire, safety and building code to promote safe working environment.
- Maintain and update the Certificate of Analysis of all customers.
- Reports directly to the Principal Quality Engineer.
- Adherence to OCTAL policies and procedures to protects confidentiality and principles of information governance and reports incidents where confidentiality is violated by self or colleagues.
- Multi-tasking and maintenance of solid time management for completion of job tasks, job priorities and meeting all the deadlines required by the production.
- Scrutiny of present job work processes / practices to increase work efficiency and prevent delays.
- Highly work processes improvement to improve their Quality checks / techniques.
- Understanding the customers concerns and the importance of environmental health issues related to end product.
- Building relationships within the organization by communicating effectively all issues that arise in the production line to immediate supervisor to properly address the problem on the right time.
- Continuous self-development and developing others to meet the Quality requirement and standards.

Perform quality test on the following as per sampling frequency of every roll produced such as:-
- Haze Measurement
- Color Measurement
- Transmission
- Thickness
- Width measurement

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering / Chemistry or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ work experience in manufacturing set up preferably plastic industry.
- English language ability required both oral and written.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Application (preferably in Word & Excel)
- Knowledge in ISO 9001 and Lean Six Sigma
- Ability to deal with the production personnel in times of quality issues and be firm with the decision made.
- Ability to make good judgment on doing quality checks.
