Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Coordinate with project team; provide necessary operational inputs during project development, review and endorse plot plans, 3D models, assist technology assessment, evaluation of alternative configurations to maximize operation.
- Liaise with vendors, contractor and commissioning team during design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, Start Up and performance testing phase of the project including handover of the plant to Operation.
- Work closely with Commissioning Manager to facilitate safe commissioning of the Systems through assurance of best design practices.
- Participate, closing action items and approving reports from HEMP activities such as HAZID, Design Review, HAZOP, Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Classification reviews report and close-out report.
- Identify opportunities for integrating plant with existing plants (especially Polypropylene plant).
- Review and approve all the operation and maintenance manuals to be provided by Contractor ensuring update during Commissioning, Start Up and Testing in order to deliver the most updated version to operations.
- Report progress with agreed action and timelines.
- Develop and train Omani nationals assigned to the project.

Requirements

- University B.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering or similar role.
- Professional qualification is an advantage
- 12 years relevant experience leading multidisciplinary teams in Operations or Projects in the Polymers Petrochemical/steam cracker Industry.
- Process simulation tools such as PRO II, PIPESIM, HYSYS or UniSIM would be advantageous

Technical and Business:
- Experience in operation (must have been a shift master as a minimum).
- Experience in developing projects throughout the project life cycle would be advantageous
- Experience with a variety of Instrumentation and Industrial Controls process systems.
- Experience with maintenance of petrochemical plants
- Proven ability to meet highest HSE standards

- Proven ability to align, motivate and develop people across multiple disciplines and levels
- Demonstrated ability to deliver quality results on-time in field of expertise
- Demonstrated ability work in multi cultural, high pressure team environment
- Demonstrated non-authoritative ability to influence peers
- Capable to work with multiple systems relevant to plan and execute work
- Proven effectiveness in analysis execution and delivering results
