Job description / Role

Lecturer:
- To undertake teaching duties in Engineering and related subjects, at foundation year, undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- To develop and deliver teaching materials assessment of courses for delivery as required.
- Contribute to assessment and examinations including moderation of material, marking, moderation of marking and timely feedback is provided as required by College policy.
- Ensure that accurate and up to date student records, such as assignment, examination, projects marks and reports are maintained and submitted promptly.
- To contribute to the learning and pastoral support of students in the College.
- To contribute to a range of administrative tasks including curriculum development and quality assurance within the teaching and learning processes for which the Department is responsible.
- To carry out such duties within the Department and College on instructions of the Head of Department if called upon to do so.
- To contribute to research and/or knowledge transfer in areas related to the existing themes and activities within the College. This includes guided research supervision, contribution to publication in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences and supporting income generation bids from a variety of funding sources.

Senior Lecturer

Teaching
- To support curriculum/course development as a member of staff within the XXXXXXXXXX Department.
- To deliver inspirational teaching and where appropriate adopt research-informed teaching.
- To support design and content of specific areas of teaching and learning.
- To undertake academic duties to deliver high quality teaching, student learning support and assessment duties.
- To support and comply with the College quality assurance standards and procedures.

Additional duties
- To support the leadership and management of the department and developing new curriculum delivery techniques.
- To undertake such specific roles/committee work as may be reasonably required.
- To participate in relevant professional/advisory activities.
- To carry out research and produce publications, or other research outputs, in line with personal objectives agreed in the Staff review process.
- To supervise or assist with supervision of undergraduate, taught graduate (Masters) or research graduate (PhD) students.
- To engage in continuous professional development.
- To undertake external activities, which reflect and enhance the reputation of the College.
- To comply with the College Health and Safety Policy.
- To undertake any other duties as required by the Head of Department.

Requirements

- Must have prior teaching experience in Western/European coutries.
- Minimum 3 years of Teaching experience with Ph.D or Masters Degree in any of the mentioned specialization.
- Willing to relocate to Oman.
