Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Set up and manage logistics (i.e. shipping, warehousing and transport, insurance, payment) procedures and work processes in Oman
- Perform warehouse and site inventory management of all import shipments
- Set up SOP to ensure compliance with workplace safety & health requirements
- Provide weekly updates on shipment schedule to corporate HQ, site team
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors for relevant shipping documents
- Co-ordinate with logistics service provider, customs broker, customs authority, port authority and land transporter to ensure smooth importation and exportation of cargo
- Arrange for equipment for loading/unloading, packing/unpacking and transportation services for all cargo
- Take active measures to mitigate risks and resolve all logistics issues
- Verify invoices from logistics service provider based on approved rates and provide supporting documents with detailed explanations to process payment
- Prepare full set of shipping documents as required by customs, air/sea port, relevant government authorities for import and export shipments
- Provide excellent internal and external customer service on shipment status, coordination and problem resolution.
- Liaise and follow up with internal customers, suppliers on order/shipment requirements, monitor shipment progress and update status on weekly basis.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date Customs requirements, import shipping instructions and any special requirement related to logistics
- Apply for permits and licenses for the import, storage and use of project equipment

Requirements

- Minimum 5 years of working experience as shipper role in EPC company/industry, with project management experience.
- Well versed in customs regulations, import/export/LC documentation,
- Expertise in trade compliance in Oman
- Proficient in Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- Able to converse fluently in English and Arabic as the position requires liaising with local and external stakeholders
- Contract will be two years or upon completion of project, whichever earlier
