Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Purpose: A key focus of the role will provide dedicated Training and Development expertise to ensure that all Warehouse & Cargo Haulage Support staff have the right technical competencies at the right time to be able to correctly execute all tasks safely and successfully, and achieve smooth operations of Logistics activities.

Accountabilities
- Accountable for Training and Development to Logistics Materials Management staff – This includes the support as well as management personnel.
- Interface with stake holders and obtain approvals on all matters related to Staff Training and Development.
- Provide warehousing management expertise to the Logistics Materials Management discipline in terms of coaching, ranging from hands on warehouse activities support (30%) and to assigned learning partner, to peer challenge of staff work in and outside discipline within Logistics (70%).
- Establish Accountabilities, Responsibilities, and Authorities & Competencies for all Job Positions as per Organizational Structure.
- Develop competence profile required to safely and effectively operate Warehouse facilities & infrastructure.
- Establish Who needs What level of Competence by When to meet Project Milestone Target Dates
- Develop overall Staff development Strategies, Training Plans including internal (cross) posting and agree Key Performance Indicators & Strategy with Skill pool Manager.
- Establish the level of Competence & Experience of all staff. Coordinate the competency assessment process including establishing competency levels based on gap analysis and planning training schedule.
- Schedule staff development for all Job Positions, based on results of “Gap Analysis”
- Coordinate the Materials & Cargo management specific theoretical and practical training activities.
- Ensure the most appropriate Learning Interventions are adopted & quality of all Training meets the Material Management requirements.
- Align with Materials & Cargo management activities such that maximum benefit can be gained from parallel activities.
- Ensure all Training Resources - People, Facilities, Equipment, & Material - are adequate & available
- Set up the training system compliant with awarding body requirements and Liaise with awarding body & others for accreditation of programs.
- Identify all Potential Risks to the success of the Training Plan, & implement effective Mitigation Plans
- Completed PC courses are highly desirable, specifically in the areas of SAP and Excel.

Requirements

The position warrants a professional & dedicated mature person with a recognized Professional qualification in Training & Development with Supply Chain / Logistics / Transport Industry.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain / Logistics discipline and a thorough knowledge of training methodologies, with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience in a training environment dealing with; learning identification, design, development, delivery and evaluation of technical training courses.
- The candidate shall be willing and able to work on Commercial / technical details, have good theoretical knowledge combined with practical Supply Chain / Logistics / Transport experience.
- The candidate must be able to work effectively & independently as well as to be able to take important decisions pertaining to training.
- An advantage having worked in an environment that conforms to the latest International Competence Assessment & Assurance Standards
- Conversant with all relevant International and Industry Procedures and Standards and Experience in competency assessment and development
- The job demands a high standard of verbal & written English, a strong team player with highly effective communications / interpersonal & coaching skills, and PC literacy.
- The job is interior based (Desert environment) in concession area.
