Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Supporting the Chief Internal Auditor developing, gathering, analysing and documenting in a timely manner the material for Audit Committee meetings.
- Managing and/or carry out consulting engagements related to Ooredoo operations as required
- Communicating the results, findings, and recommendations of consulting projects via written reports and oral presentations on a timely basis to the management, CIA, and if necessary to the Board of Directors as instructed by the CIA;
- Managing and/or carrying out the review of the policies and procedures of the company to support the policies approvals process.
- Managing and/or carrying out special audit assignments and investigations as instructed by the Chief Internal Auditor
- Communicating the results, findings, and recommendations of special assignment/investigation projects via written reports and oral presentations on a timely basis to the management, CIA, and if necessary to the Board of Directors as instructed by the CIA.
- Managing the work of direct reports to ensure they meet their objectives, are kept motivated and perform in accordance with their job description
- Conducting regular on the job training to ensure that direct reports have the necessary skills to undertake new or existing responsibilities
- Delegating responsibility to direct reports, in accordance with their role and ability, to ensure they are developed and maximise their potential;
- Participating in the selection and interview process for the candidates as well as the assistance in the recruitment of reporting staff as required;
- Supporting CIA in performing the annual performance appraisal process for the direct reporting staff and ensure objectives set are monitored and take effective actions to address performance matters;
- Managing the workload and resources to effectively handle the different assignments in the Ooredoo internal audit department.
- Developing and maintaining productive team-oriented management and staff relationships through individual coaching and group meetings;
- Proactively taking responsibility for self-improvement by staying well informed of developments, knowledge and innovations in relevant field of expertise
- Pursuing professional development opportunities, including internal and external training and professional association memberships, and shares information gained with co-workers;
- Represent internal audit at Ooredoo project team meetings, management meetings, and meetings with external organisations.
- Other duties as directed by the Chief Internal Auditor

Requirements

You should have a minimum of 8 years of experience in auditing or accounting, preferably with telecommunications audit experienc, experience with any of the Big4 audit firms is highly desirable, good knowledge of international accounting and reporting standards, good knowledge of IIA’s International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and Code of Ethics, ability to use audit tools, knowledge of best practices in audit and knowledge of local laws and regulations with Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent. Post-graduate qualifications in business administration or a related field or profession (e.g., IT auditing, fraud auditing, or accounting) will be viewed favourably.
