Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Objectives:
- To carry out Wholesale Banking Audits and other assignments.
- To ensure compliance with the Bank's Internal Rules and Regulations, CBO Guidlines, and other applicable Laws and Standards.

Main responsibilities:
- Assist Senior Manager – Wholesale Banking Audit in determining key risks in relation to auditable units under Wholesale Banking segments.
- Assist Senior Manager – Wholesale Banking Audit in preparation of plan prior to commencing each audit or other assignments encompassing scope, effort estimation, details of job allocation, sampling, audit procedures, timelines and other details as required by the Internal Audit Manual.
- Conduct the audits and other assignments in a professional manner and in accordance with the approved plans and internal audit methodology as per the Internal Audit manual.
- Report to Senior Manager – Wholesale Banking, any audit findings of an unusual and alarming nature which require urgent attention on an immediate basis.
- Obtain adequate and sufficient evidence for the audit procedures carried out and for the audit findings reported. Identify and adequately investigate the causes of irregularities and errors.
- Develop, maintain and complete audit working paper in the Audit management System as per the Bank’s Internal Audit manual.
- Conduct data analysis using Audit Tools such as ACL/ SQL and use them in various audits as relevant.
- Develop the audit report in the Audit Management System upon completion of the field work, detailing the audit findings, its impact on the business, recommendations, annexure for additional information etc., as per the Internal Audit Manual.
- Be involved in audit finalization and provide necessary support as needed.
- Be up-to-date informed of the recent developments, including risks, financial and compliance issues, in relation to audit universe.
- Conduct review of policy/ procedure/ product Scheme documents as assigned by the Senior Manager/ Deputy Head-IAD or AGM IAD.
- Attend trainings and seminars as decided by the Internal Audit Management.
- Perform any other related task as assigned by the superiors.

Reporting to: Manager Wholesale Banking Audit

Requirements

- Omani National preferred.
- Should be a degree holder; Finance background and/ or Audit qualifications /certifications would be added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Wholesale Banking Audit or Corporate Banking related job function is required which could be either form credit operations in any Wholesales Banking business segment (Large Corporate/ Project Finance/ Mid Corporate/ Business Banking), Credit Administration, Credit Control, Credit Risk Management. Knowledge on Trade Finance Operations would be an added advantage.
- Should be able to identify risks underlying corporate banking operations and conduct audit tests to identify the controls/ their effectiveness
- Should have the ability to recognize the residual risks and provide value added recommendations to mitigate/ control the identified risks
- Conduct the audits and other assignments in a professional manner and in accordance with the approved plans and internal audit methodology as per the Internal Audit manual
- Should possess very good written communication skills in English & Arabic.
- Should be well conversant with CBO rules and regulations, Omani Laws in general governing Corporate Banking Operations
- Be prepared to work in different work locations as per the audit engagements defined in Annual Audit Plan.
- Should be proactive in learning new developments in the field of Internal Auditing, enthusiastic in acquiring knowledge and applying them in audit work
- Should be a good team player and be able to professionally carry out job functionalities while maintaining independence, objectivity and work ethics of the Internal Audit Function
