Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in engineering theories and practices for mechanical design, and testing and commissioning of water/wastewater pump stations and treatment plants. .

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure all technical reviews and design engineering compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and ordinances.
- Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for construction purposes.
- Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
- Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical evaluation.
- Review control philosophy and testing/commissioning requirements.
- Supervising the Site Inspectors and reviewing the inspectors RFIS after inspecting in compliance with the specifications and IFC drawings.
- Supervise testing and commissioning works of mechanical equipment.
- Review FAT procedures and attend FATs.
- Checking of the progress of mechanical works submitted by the Contractor every month for IPC Bill purposes.
- Preparation of weekly progress report
- Preparation of progress reports for client and photographs of ongoing activities on site.
- Drafting of letters to address the issues to contractor and client.
- Answering of technical queries and solving technical problems
- Preparation of daily progress report.
- Preparation of snag list with all the parties at the time of final handing over.
- Follow up with the contractor for outstanding and pending issues with contractor

Requirements

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering related subject,
- 10 years postgraduate experience of similar work with progressively increasing responsibility.
- Experience in design, installation, testing and commissioning of large water/wastewater pump stations and treatment plants.
- Working overseas or in the region essential.
- Spoken and written English is essential
- Driving licence is advantage
