Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Mechanical Technician reports directly to Lead Mechanical Engineer. The Mechanical Technician will fulfil the day to day mechanical maintenance activities at the power plant to ensuring that the plant meets availability, reliability, efficiency, generation and cost targets, safely and within strict environmental limits.

Requirements

- Diploma in Mechanical or Power Plant Engineering (or):
- Time served Apprenticeship (or)
- Demonstrated competence at engineering level with adequate education and training supported.
- Multiple years of mechanical experience not less than 5 years. Power plant stations experience would be an advantage.
- Knowledge on using lathe machine, welding, gas cutting, Drill Press, Band Saw, etc.
- Technically assesses the requirement of allocated jobs and selects the necessary tools and equipment to complete the work
- Performs various works related to welding and fabrication.
- High level of Knowledge on tools, consumables and rotating/static equipment spare parts.
- Ensure that the workshop policies and procedures are being followed
- Using the computerized maintenance system to orders the spare part, tools and consumables.
- Maintaining the inventory records.
- Language: Fluent in English
