In 2011, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said decreed the establishment of a new university dedicated to scholarship and research in science and technology with a mandate to expand the nation’s higher education capacity significantly and spur economic growth.

Our Client, the University of Oman Project (UOP) is the project phase of the University of Oman which is expected to become operational by August 2018.

The University of Oman Project seek to employ the services of a Procurement and Contracts Expert to join its project team.

The successful candidate is expected among other things to:
- Develop and implement in conjunction with the legal and audit units, standard contract documentation of all nature in accordance with the prevailing legal and regulatory requirements in the Sultanate of Oman.
- Review and provide expert advice on contractual matters, agreements, tenders, risks, claims, disputes and all issues that are governed by contracts.
- Provide support and advice to the UOP leadership on procurement strategy development and planning.
- Assist in the training and development of personnel in the contract function.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Construction Economics or Civil Engineering.
• Professional qualifications such as RICS, CIBSE or its equivalent are desirable.
• 10 years of experience in a senior role with hands-on experience in contract administration, internal budgets and valuations, subcontracting procedures for procurement and close out, income/cost reporting systems, and financial risk assessment.
