Job description / Role
The Program Manager - Network Inventory role will be responsible to manage projects which ensure that the NIS application and computing resources are deployed, according to the plans set, having a consolidated central database for both the physical and logical network resources and customer services with accurate information. In addition will also be managing the provision, implementation, commissioning and roll-out of the new or enhanced solutions, including managing associated operational support requirements.
Core Responsibilities:
Programme Plannning & Execution:
- Control all aspects of Network Inventory Programs in close coordination with Project Managers, stakeholders and vendors.
- Manage strategic Network Inventory Programs from start to finish by ensuring that all project related documentation are kept and updated
- Manage the availability of sufficient internal and external resources to complete the programmes.
- Control tendering process for implementation of Network Inventory projects
Progress Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track & Optimise resource utilisation, for most efficient execution
- Monitor progress of All projects relative to plan
- Provide project managers support to ensure deliverables are successfully completed
Risk Managment & Financial Control:
- Control and manage project obstacles (risks, issues and changes in scope) and support resolution / creation of mitigation plans
- Responsible for decision making when multiple parties are involved and escalation when required for mitigation
- Manage the execution of all projects within their allocated budgets
Programme Close-out, Knowledge Management:
- Running feedback sessions with project managers to plan contract closure and managing contract details for Cost Management
- Manage the creation of a repository for Quality Management (Lessons Learned) and run feedback sessions with project managers to plan contract closure
Requirements
Minimum University degree in engineering/IT, 8 years work experience in project and program management preferred in Telecom/ IT environment. A clear history of portfolio and project management experience is needed. A clear history of involvement with an NIS project. Preferred to be PMP certified or equivalent experience.
