Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Project Manager (PM) will have the responsibility of owning the project, from start to finish. The project will be of a refurbishment/fit-out nature including rebrands or refits/office fit-outs to meet the client’s design standards. It would be an opportunity for a talented, self-aware individual to develop a first-hand relationship with the client, own a project in it’s entirety, be a part of a global account and help the business grow within the region.

Responsibilities:
- Development and understanding of the project brief
- Develop the scope of the project with consultation of the client
- Manage all works (post-contract) ensuring the program is efficiently actioned incorporating risk management, change management and budgeting up to the handover of the project
- Procurement of design teams and /or other consultants
- All stages of design development
- Pre-construction planning, and development of a delivery strategy
- Input to the project schedules
- Development of the cost plan and reviews of this at relevant design phases against the project budget
- Active Value and Risk management of the project
- Procurement options and recommendations
- Procurement of the contractor(s) through to completion and handover
- Management of the Engineer / Supervision consultant
- Progression reporting at pre-defined periods during the tenure of the project

Health and Safety Objectives:
- Assist in developing workplace safety procedures
- Promote workplace safety standards and procedures
- Immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents
- Participate in workplace safety inspections
- Assist the safety team in achieving high standards of workplace safety
- Assist the HSS team in carrying out safety audits
- Continuously promote and influence a positive safety culture
- Review and endorse safety procedures and standards

Technical Skills:
- Produce, review and implement employer requirement documents
- Act as technical advisor to the client
- Keep up to date with industry developments with respect to own discipline, other disciplines and engineering innovations and developments on a global scale
- Prepare and monitor project schedules
- Comprehend, analyse and assess budgets and cost plans, consultant and contractor applications, and the change/variation process
- Initiate and support the technical capabilities of the team
- Challenge and seek to improve the project deliverables
- Drive innovation and better ways of working
- Initiate and drive value management and value engineering

Requirements

- Degree qualified within a construction-related e.g. project management, construction management, engineering etc.
- Minimum 4 years’ continuous experience within building construction
- People Leadership, collaboration & teamwork
- Overseeing of, and collaboration with, all project management teams
- Good communication skills in written and spoken English
- Experience in coordinating multiple parties
- Able to meet deadlines, no exceptions – “Completer Finisher” attributes
- Good technical writing ability
- Knowledge of recognised project control principles (procurement, earned value measurement, risk management, contract admin and claims resolution, change control)
- Knowledge of the principal major forms of contract
