Job description / Role
Project Manager - Build - Main Contractor - Oman
Urgent requirement for an experienced Project Manager to join a main contractor, to be based in Oman.
The successful candidate will:
- Review the tender drawings and the project plan
- Arrange the log sheet for materials and drawings and ensure it is submitted on time to the consultant/client
- Follow-up with the drafting department for review of shop drawings before submission
- Evaluates the quantities, check the cash flow plan and request the quantities as per the project plan (partial delivery)
- Follow-up with the local authorities for temporary and permanent approval
- Arrange for monthly payments and monitor the store facility
- Ensure that long lead items are ordered on time
- Review the coordination of all works, and follow-up with the activities and resources at project site
- Attend meetings (consultants/client/sub-contractors/management) and distribute the work to other staff (Engineers/Drafting/Documentation)
- Prepares project execution schedule, labour histogram and progress reports on as needed basis. Ensure reports demonstrating S curve is prepared.
- Provides technical support to project engineers, supervisors and other technical staff.
- Monitors performance of project team for quality, schedule and productivity, and takes necessary action for improvement, if needed.
- Ensures timely completion of the project within (or better than) budget and hand over the project to client within the stipulated time.
- Performs regular inspections and site visits to project sites to assess the progress of each project.

Requirements
- Technical Bachelor degree qualification, ideally linked to project or construction management
- Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in a similar position within construction industry
- At least 5 years work experience within the GCC
- Ability to liaise with a wide variety of staff and Clients at all levels
- Computer literate in the essential MS software, i.e. Word, Excel
- Good knowledge of construction techniques and terminology
