Radiation Protection Supervisor

Job description / Role

Purpose: To control all NORM (Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials) related aspects of the decontamination of tubular and equipment from the drilling operations. To include advice, monitoring, testing and reporting.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of management systems in relation to controlling and measurement of NORM processing
- Monitor, audit and report on the NORM process
- Perform measurements on treated NORM equipment to ensure treatment is at background levels
- Develop and implement suitable sampling routine for measuring activity in NORM scale
- Provide NORM related H&S training
- Ensure the site remains compliant with respect to legislation, permit and contract condition
- Control the personal dosimetry plan for operators
- Responsible for the NORM testing equipment
- Report all incidents and near misses in line with Company policy

Requirements

- Must speak English, Arabic would be useful
- Mechanically minded
- RPS trained
- FLT licence preferred

Knowledge
- NORM decontamination by pressure jetting
- Good understanding of rules regarding radioactive waste disposal
