Resident Engineer - Roads

Job description / Role

Our client is a leading consultancy and is looking to hire Resident Engineer – Roads for Muscat location.

Purpose of Job
Act as the Engineer under FIDIC Conditions of Contract on a 60 Km dualisation project (6 lanes) of a rural highway in flat to hilly terrain. Project includes interchanges, major bridges, drainage structures, utility relocations, street lighting.

Responsibilities
- Manage the team of supervision staff comprising engineers, technicians and administrative staff
- Liaise with Client, Minsitry of Transport and Communications and Project Management Consultant
- Monitor progress and quality of construction
- Measurement of monthly progress and preparation of payment certificates
- Manage Variation Orders and Contractors Claims

Requirements

- Degree in Civil Engineering
- 15 - 20 year’s relevant experience in highway construction
- 3 previous positions as Resident Engineer

- 160 km south east of Muscat
- Accommodation located in city of Sur (population 90,000)
- Site office located 20kmfrom Sur on road alignmentQualification
