Job description / Role
The role is responsible for managing the DWH/BI/Analytics program and projects, customer expectations, DWH team and supporting databases. The role holder ensures data integrity and data quality in DWH, and is responsible for enterprise data governance initiatives.
Core Responsibilities:
Program Management:
- Define and manage the overall enterprise BI strategy and roadmap, and manage its implementation. Ensures that the design and architecture of the DWH/BI solution adheres to the overall strategic objectives of the business. Working closely with business teams in relation to business requirements analysis in particular for larger more strategic projects. Managing the expectations and perceptions of the internal stakeholders / users from DWH and BI solution, through effective prioritization of end-user requests and proactive communication. Undertake DWH Infrastructure Capacity Planning. Work with vendors on new & existing hardware/software and licensing requirements, in order to have appropriate licensing and support agreements in place, in turn ensuring business continuity. Ensure data quality and data availability in DWH, through introducing appropriate governance initiatives and supporting technical processes. Ensure timely availability of reports and advance analysis to relevant stakeholders
Design and Architecture:
- Design and Development of Data Models for the DWH and DWH Solution architecture. Analyse business requirements and provide the best possible solution to support the relevant decision making process. Review technical design documents to ensure compliance with the overall design and architecture principles
Team Management:
- Manage, motivate, coach and develop team to ensure the level of knowledge and capability is expanded across the unit. Ensures all team members have in place performance contracts, are regularly and accurately appraised with a development plan defined and executed. Delegates effectively to the team to provide opportunity for growth. Manage a team of external consultants (working as part of the DWH team), tracking their performance, and ensuring timely delivery of projects/tasks.
Project Management:
- Working as single point of contact for all DWH related Projects and PCID deliveries. Preparing Project Plan and task assignments and follow up with the team. Management of DWH projects.
Requirements
You have minimum Bachelor degree in computer science or information systems, 6-8 years of overall experience:
- 4-6 years of DWH solution architect and Project Management experience
- 3-5 years of DWH, ETL and BI, Teradata, Informatica and TTU development experience
- Must have excellent skills in requirements analysis, data assessment, business process re-engineering, and full familiarity with data warehousing designing and development with project management, designing of solution architect, and Data modelling skills
- Ability to Review/enhance any technical design documents or requirements related to DWH.
- MS Office proficiency
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic
