Job description / Role
Senior Expert - Structural Design and Solution Engineer (Omani or GCC National)
- Focal point for all co-location communications through Wholesale representing Ooredoo’s Technology Division for external communications with clients and customers.
- Review, approve and control the space allocation for any new equipment within Ooredoo premises and telecom infrastructure.
- Reviewing, approving and controlling invoices sent and received for structure co-locations.
- Reviewing, and providing inputs over co-location contracts and agreement documents.
- Reviewing and feedback on co-location requests issued by external customers.
- Developing co-location guidelines and standards to host operators and other customers in occupying Ooredoo’s infrastructure.
- Developing and implementing processes, procedures and working methods for the Department to ensure compliance with internal policies and guidelines as well as nationwide legislative rules and regulations of various ministries including civil aviation and civil defence.
- Ensuring the Department’s policies and procedures remain aligned with market practices and fall within the legal and regulatory guidelines as determined by regional governing bodies.
- Identifying areas for improvement, revise and adjust Civil Infrastructure policies and procedures accordingly.
- Innovating to facilitate network rollout and implementation through tailored practical designs and aesthetically pleasing solutions
- Providing camouflaged solution designs and engineering based on client requirements and specifications.
- Evaluating new technologies, systems and structures, and conduct necessary trials to support selection of the most appropriate solutions.
- Managing outsourced engineering staff directly, motivating them and sharing knowledge and by providing the necessary tools and support required to support delivery of Departmental goals.
- Managing time and priorities, setting timelines, coordinating task and delegations.
- Build opportunities for the team members to suggest, participate in and contribute to improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing initiatives.
- Conducting on-site training sessions with direct reporting engineering, staff under department and interns within the unit.
Requirements
You should have a minimum of 4 years telecoms planning experience, with emphasis on civil Infrastructure planning/design and with at least 2 year experience in a managerial position, broad knowledge of structure, civil aviation and civil defence regulations and industry standards, ability to manage and employ multiple land surveys tools, aability to analyse and interpret data gathered in the field during surveys, proficient MS package knowledge, expert level with AutoCAD software with a university degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Masters preferred).
