Senior Logistics Manager - Oman

Our client, a multinational company who manufacture eco-friendly packaging are currently looking for a Senior Logistics Manager to be based in Oman onsite at their manufacturing plant. With manufacturing in the Middle East and the United States this company is expanding due to the strong growth in their business and the need for an expert within logistics to develop strategy while overseeing the day to day operations of the inbound, outbound and trucking operations.

You will be responsible for:
- Managing day-to-day interaction with employees, including daily information flow, problem solving, process improvements, reporting and direct management of the teams.
- Responsible for the performance and customer experience of all onsite logistics, inbound and outbound operations and customs clearance department.
- Will set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Department Managers. Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments.
- Leverages the Department Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area.
- Takes proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering, Operations or Supply Chain. Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment.
- Experience with performance metrics and process improvement and Lean techniques
- Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and terminations
- Candidates must be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays
- Effective communication skills with upper management, peers, team members, and supplier teams.
